Under the moniker of Slowolf, Andreas Asingh is one of the most credible and critically acclaimed electronic artists in Denmark. As an international beat-creator he has worked with groundbreaking artists like Raekwon of The Wu-Tang Clan and even toured the World. Eventually, life took Asingh back to his roots in the countryside of Mols Bjerge.
In late 2022, Asingh meets Jens Emil Sørensen and Andreas Beck – two young heavy metal dudes from the loud underground scene of Djursland. Not the obvious creative match, even though a strong musical connection came to life as an alternative metal-hybrid.
802 is classic heavy metal with hazy shoegaze melodies and ghostly synth-themes powered by Asingh’s syncopated drumming - drenched in layers of distortion!
GROTESQUE HORROR-KITSCH BY DAVID LYNCH-DIRECTOR
The new single, ’22 (Velvet Vampire)’, is a relentless yet dreamy and catchy tune, creating a surreal nightmare-like scenario. The song is accompanied by the grotesque and kitsch horror short film, ‘The Curse of the Velvet Vampire’, in which Asingh is cursed from drinking a Velvet Vampire beer leading to the brutal killings of his innocent, lazy band mates.
The short film is directed by Christoffer Schuricht who most recently has worked on projects with David Lynch and Charli XCX while the official Velvet Vampire beer is made in collaboration the Copenhagen-based brewery, Mikkeller. Watch and drink – if you dare…
802 is currently working on a debut album for 2024.
