Both hypnotic and intensely vulnerable, “All Mine” once again reveals ayokay’s incredible ability to fully transport the audience into another world in under three minutes. With its glistening textures and gorgeously airy beats, the track unfolds in an understated but richly layered sound reflecting his deep affinity for ambient electronic music. Along with showcasing the unbridled originality he’s previously shown in producing for hitmakers like Carly Rae Jepsen and Grouplove, “All Mine” features an emotionally raw vocal performance from the Detroit-bred musician otherwise known as Alex O’Neill.
"I wrote “All Mine” this summer with the intention of creating a laid back track about spending a long night with someone you care about, says ayokay. Once I had the vocal, I tried to take the instrumental in a ton of different directions, all leaving it in a very chill space. Finally I brought it to my friend Phil Scully who helped me pump the energy it had been needing to turn it into the dance-floor-ready track I had always hoped it would be."
“All Mine” arrives as the follow-up to ayokay’s recent single “I Still Need You” a September release that surpassed 1.7 million streams in just over a month. In addition to landing on coveted playlists like Spotify’s Chill Tracks and Apple Music’s Chill House, the song continues to spin 30-plus times a week on SiriusXM’s Chill station. Prior to sharing “I Still Need You,” ayokay made his Astralwerks debut with the July single “Better With You,” which marked his first new music since his widely lauded 2019 EP we come alive. “Better With You” earned praise from the likes of E!, who hailed it as the perfect choice for fans of Harry Styles’s Fine Line or Zedd’s “Stay the Night.”
On “All Mine,” ayokay expands on the wildly imaginative storyline introduced with the song’s two preceding singles. To that end, the episodic videos for “I Still Need You” and “Better With You” find their protagonist entangled with an enigmatic woman who’s created a computer system that allows her to enter into another reality. Directed by Jonah George, each visual possesses a surreal and cinematic quality that beautifully amplifies its mood of dreamy nostalgia.
Now at work on a new album (due out early next year), ayokay first emerged with his 2016 debut single “Kings of Summer” feat. Quinn XCII, a gold-certified track that’s amassed over 125 million streams on Spotify to date. Over the years, he’s racked up more than 350 million global catalogue streams on Spotify, headlined sold-out shows at such notable venues as New York City’s Bowery Ballroom and The Roxy in L.A., and played major festivals like Electric Forest and BottleRock Napa Valley. A vital force in the pop/electronic world, he spent much of 2020 producing for other artists, including executive-producing Quinn XCII’s fourth studio album Change of Scenery IIand working on forthcoming albums from Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker.
