German DJ and producer Topic has remixed Moby’s own reimagined version of the iconic “Natural Blues”. Out now, Moby’s track, featuring Gregory Porter and Amythyst Kiah, is taken from his upcoming Deutsche Grammophon debut album Reprise, a collection of new orchestral and acoustic arrangements set for release on 28 May. Topic’s stunning remix of “Natural Blues” is out now.

Born after Moby had his first hit, Topic counts the EDM pioneer among his greatest influences. In recent years he’s developed his own signature “melancholic dance music” sound, producing tracks with lyrics that invite an emotional response and a beat that makes people want to get up and dance.

That made “Natural Blues” – with its timeless lines from the spiritual “Trouble So Hard” – a natural choice. While Moby’s Reprise version adds lush orchestration, Topic takes the track right back to the dance floor. His remix focuses on the soulful chorus, contrasting its sombre words with a pared-down but uplifting drum-and-synth accompaniment.

Topic is one of today’s most-streamed artists, with recent hits including “Breaking Me”, feat. A7S, and “Why Do You Lie to Me”, with A7S and feat. Lil Baby. Earlier this year he released “Your Love (9PM)”  with ATB and A7S – the first official remix of ATB’s classic “9PM (Till I Come)” – which looks set to be one of 2021’s biggest dance tunes.
