UK electronic music producer Synkro has released his latest single ‘Floatation’, which is taken from the upcoming compilation Cosmic Vibrations Vol.3 via Deep Heads and compiled by Zeb Samuels. The single premiered on Beats Per Minute and has already been shared by the noteworthy YouTube channel Ambient. He previously showcased his debut album, Changes on Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective’s live stream The Lab LDN. His remix of Daughter ‘Love’ was featured on the prominent Youtube channels MrSuicideSheep and Majestic Casual, helping him reach 10 million streams on Spotify alone and counting. The producer has been backed by the likes of BBC Radio 6’s Giles Peterson as well as BBC Radio 6’s Mary Anne Hobbs, with publication support from the tastemaker webzines PopMatters, and CLASH Magazine.
Born and raised in Derbyshire, UK, Synkro discovered music through his guitar, but later established a name for himself as an electronic music producer during the heights of the UK Bass scene, leading him to join R&S’ sister label, Apollo. Additionally, he has remixed the works of industry giants, such as Snow Patrol. The producer draws inspiration from early electronic records & obscure library music.
Dipping his paintbrush in fresh water, Synkro has mixed a thoughtfully-chosen palette of percussions, painting us the vibrant picture that is ‘Floatation’, all the while fluid textures blend and glisten throughout the recording. A deeply immersive production wrapped in an abundance of warm frequencies.
Speaking on the track, Synkro tells us: “This track is heavily inspired by mid-’90s ambient techno records by the likes of B12, Detroit Escalator Company & the Likemind Records crew.”
