JUNO nominated, alternative-pop band Valley celebrate a spectacular year of releases with their Live At Capitol Studios EP available today through Capitol Records. Earlier this year, Valley had the opportunity to track five of their favorite songs from the iconic Capitol Records building in Los Angeles. See below for full track listing of the live record. The performances were also filmed, and two of the tracks were performed with the legendary Capitol building rooftop view as their backdrop. The live videos for each track will be released in a cascade throughout the coming days starting with the first video for “Like 1999” out today.
This past year has been a whirlwind for Valley with a steady release schedule, each song capturing relatable moments in time while being perfectly danceable. The explosive first single of 2021,“Like 1999” which genesis traces back to a viral TikTok post that drove the band to finish the track in under 48 hours, and went on to push the band’s catalog to over 240 million global streams. The band performed “Like 1999” for the 2021 MYX Awards in the Philippines. Back at home, Valley were selected as Apple Music’s Up Next artist for Canada in September, joining the vast Up Next roster of past Canadian talent including Grammy-nominated and critically lauded talent like 6lack, Daniel Caesar, Jessie Reyez, Orville Peck, and Tate McRae.
Valley burst back into playing live this year, reconnecting with fans across North America. The band played their first American festivals this summer and recently sold out shows with COIN on a 17-date North American tour. Valley is now gearing up for the band’s first-ever headlining outing with 30 shows across North America beginning early 2022.
